Wonder-Filled Wednesday No. 3: Visual Note-taking

Using a feather to demonstrate that drawing is just another way to take notes

Hi, friends!

Thank you to all who made it to today’s livestream. I thought you’d get a kick out of what it looked like behind-the-scenes after I propped up the boom mid-livestream.

Oh, yes, Cricklewood Nature Journal is the epitome of high tech! I grabbed anything that was handy to hold the boom in place. LOL.

I appreciate your patience while I tried to work out the kinks during the stream… we’re getting closer to something that works for everyone a session at a time!

I hope this session energized you to put pencil/pen to paper. Keep in mind that this is just another way to take notes about your observations — no different than making a diagram or jotting down words to describe what you are seeing. Think in terms of rough shapes, indicating texture, and use your pencil as a stick to take relative measurements for proportions. And the beauty is the more you do it, the more comfortable it begins to feel, and the better you get at.

Until next week, then!

P.S. Keep scrolling if you’d like to see what’s on my easel this week.
