Hi, friends!
Well, that was heaps of fun! I chose foxgloves for this week’s subject because it’s a plant that bees and hummingbirds love, although it is deadly to humans and animals, and it is just a beautiful flower. Graceful, tall, somewhat petulant (did I mention it’s poisonous?) — sort of the 1980s supermodel of the botanical sphere.
They grow everywhere here in the summer, although they are not native to this area, and come in many colors from the deepest purple-indigo blue to magenta to bright lipstick pink. So pretty!
What flowers are you seeing in your part of the world that pollinators love?
