Watch now (30 secs) | tbd – Experimenting with different art supplies and getting closer to the vision I have in my head for my natural history illustration aesthetic.
I love the bird! Can’t wait to study this more and give more thought to gouache! ( I was an oil painter before peripheral neuropathy stole my ability to grasp or guide a paintbrush or even a palette knife. )
Thank you so much! I hope this gives you more ideas. Sorry about the neuropathy - are you able to work with shorter handle or lighter brushes? I actually used my waterbrushes to paint this piece - they are light and the "handle" is quite chunky because it's also the water reservoir, so maybe that can help you grip the brush more easily? Sorry if I've overstepped. I know what it's like to have to adapt, and hope maybe this can help?
Thank you for this generous creation. I am obsessed with Carolina wrens. Thank you. Thank you.🌱🤍🌱
Thank you for saying such kind words. I love them, too, and their song is one of my favorites - so rhythmic.

His is so beautiful! Your ability to get the gouache to have a watercolor feel to it is also impressive!
