21 Days Of Nature

The collection of activities to start (or restart) a nature journal practices posted to Notes from April 1 through April 21, 2025. Use the table of contents to the left to jump around topics or follow them in order. Enjoy!

Day 1: Find your sit spot.

Day 2: Look at everything through the lens of inquiry and discovery.

Day 3: Go on a string safari.

Day 4: Choose a leaf and closely observe it through drawing.

Day 5: Take a step outside.

Day 6: Listen to what nature tells you.

Day 7: Think you can’t draw? Try my Puzzle Approach to draw what you see.

Day 8: Build curiosity chains in your nature journal.

Day 9: For more practice of the Puzzle Method from Day 7, let’s illustrate a Luna Moth.

Day 10: Use a micro/macro viewing method to ignite curiosity and wonder.

Day 11: Create a study page.

Days 12 and 13: Deeply observe your envronment.

Day 14: See patterns emerge.

Day 15: Add smell to your sensory experience of nature.

Day 16: Let’s draw a Red-tailed Hawk together!

Day 17: Create a field guide and get lost in wonder.

Days 18, 19, and 20: Deeply observe your environment (this time with a field guide).

Day 21: You are Earth's child.
