My dearest reader,

Just a quick note to tell you about the Great Backyard Bird Count, which takes place from 17 February to 20 February worldwide. It’s not an arduous task - just choose 15-20 minutes over the course of the 4 days and a spot where you will count birds. There’s an identification app for your phone if you are new to birding. Check out the GBBC website for all the details.

Of course, I’ll use this as an opportunity to add some birds to my nature journal. I’ll have a full letter for you towards the end of the week showing you my preparations and my field kit, but I wanted to let you know about this in case you’d like to participate too.
